Ministry sees no fuel deficit in Russia, firms adhere to plans

MOSCOW, Jun 18 (PRIME) -- There is no fuel deficit on the Russian market, producers fulfil their production plans, the Energy Ministry said in a statement on Thursday citing Deputy Minister Pavel Sorokin.

“There is no deficit on the fuel markets. The companies’ production plans are being fulfilled, in particular, this week production of car gasoline has increased 6.8%, reserves of oil refineries and oil product suppliers have grown 6.4%, and sales through the commodity exchange have amounted to 27,000–28,000 tonnes daily, which is higher that the set minimal level,” Sorokin said, as quoted by the ministry.

The ministry also said that a rise in wholesale prices for gasoline bears no risks for consumers.

A representative of the ministry told reporters that retail fuel prices are relatively stable in Russia, the growth rate is below inflation, at 0.4% for gasoline and minus 0.4% for diesel fuel.
